We had a lovely time at the Beacon Hollow Farm for two nights. Ben and Anna were both so welcoming and one of their sons, David, spent a lot of time with us too. The house was big and easily accommodated me, my grown son and three Belgian teenagers in four different bedrooms. We were treated to a wonderful breakfast on Saturday morning. And made pancakes in the kitchen on Sunday morning. David gave us a tour of his beautiful new buggy which he had just purchased from savings from his fence-building job. Ben took us on a long tour of the farm. It was fascinating to see the milking operation and the collection of milk for Land o' Lakes. The farm was immaculately kept and very peaceful. We all would have been happy to spend a couple more days there!
We also got to eat dinner at an Amish home which was delightful. Many of her children helped serve the meal to us and the 10 other guests. The youngest children, 2 and 4, were fun to watch and play with even though they did not speak English. Our whole stay with the Amish Farm Stay was wonderful and we all would recommend it for an interesting and relaxing look into this unique lifestyle.
