I moved to the area and still have my phone number for my cell from the area I moved from. I called the office 5 times only to have the receptionist pick up say "Dr Choby" and as I began to speak she hung up on me. I then went home to call from a local number oh and what a surprise she finally allowed me to speak. I told her I had been the one calling from the out of area number that she kept hanging up on. She could have cared less she said "yeah ok". I explained to her I had found the office on waterlase the site to find dentists who use the laser. I explained to her my situation and before I could finish she cut me off said "let me save you some time our laser has been out of commission for a while now so you will want to go somewhere else." I said ok thank you and hung up. In the meantime my husband had called to set up an appt for tooth pain. Their website states they have Saturday hours once a month. Dr Choby called my husband back it was a Friday afternoon around 1:30. He said he could take him immediately but my husband couldn't do that so Dr. Choby told him he could see him at 11 on Sat. He agreed. The next day we went to the office and Dr Choby was by himself. He took my husband back and brought him back out 5 mins later. He took a temp filling out and put a new one in. That was it. Asked if I needed anything. Spoke to him briefly he never mentioned the laser being out of commission. He told us he was dressed for horse back riding because he has a therapeutic horse farm. He was kind and courteous and seemed very nice. A few weeks later we get our insurance information for the visit. He is in network but they refused to cover the appt because he billed it as an emergency?! So when we called to ask why we were told he had come in on his own time???! They refused to bill it differently and pretty much said sorry about your luck. So take this as a warning ask up front if it's going to be an "after hour visit" if you are asked to come in on a sat because they won't tell you up front and for 5 mins time he gets paid $154. What a racket!!! Needless to say they lost our entire family as possible patients. Hope they enjoy their $154 from us. Lesson learned.
