As squares go, this one delivers fairly well, considering that there are no competing squares in the area. We have a circle and a plaza nearby, but no other squares that I'm aware of. This is good. It means that Cedar Crest Square isn't taking us for granted. And it shouldn't, either! Even though I am able to do my banking, grocery shopping, office supply runs, vacuum cleaner repair, and hair care all in one spot here, there are stealthy little pockets of gustatory temptation and nuts-and-bolts pragmatism springing up all around, and all outside of the "square" context, leaving *this* square to rely on its tried-and-true offerings (not the least of which are its fluid means of ingress and egress). I mean, heck: if it comes down to a choice between Joanne Fabrics and Five Guys, I can't honestly say that I would always go the way of the cloth, so to speak. Sometimes a man needs a burger! So why only four stars? I confess: it's personal. When the pet store bailed, I had to start going to the plaza for my catnip, and this has been disruptive to my routine. Still, I'm a Cedar Crest Square loyalist and I encourage others to visit the place. If nothing else, you can go to the Chinese buffet and stuff yourself silly.
