Super nice guys, scheduled everything kindly, but I wasn't happy with the sticker shock. I was quoted 2300$ to 'service' my car without a clear understanding of what needed to be done and what they thought would be good for the car. I had to talk through more on the phone to find out what I actually had to pay for if I wanted to pass inspection. I will say that after asking for it they gave me a wonderful break down of costs of labor and parts for each service they recommend. It also should be stated that maybe my 65000 mile 2010 Scion really needs a lot of work. I came in for a check engine light, an inspection, and an oil change. I left after the sticker shock and paid them the 280 for the oil change, 110 in labor for my check engine light(part of the 280), and my non passed inspection/emissions. Not sure what others are used to paying but it just seemed a little high. Attached is a picture of a part of the bill I paid with a shop supplies charge of 19.64. I called to ask about it and was told that though your services that you paid for are broken down by parts and labor cost this is an added percent that the computer generates based on your bill. They couldn't tell me exactly what it covers but it helps pay for things like the stuff they use to clean the oil off the floor after an oil change or random things they use in the shop when they worked on my car. So basically the service labor and parts does not truly represent how much you are paying to do the job. A little wierd to me.
