Move in: Rented the apartment through Jinny, she kept saying it was ready to move in, but upon move in I found roughly 5 burned out lightbulbs, the dishwasher was not mounted properly, several outlets didn't work, and the ceiling fan in the kitchen didn't work. I had rented the washer and dryer from them which were disgustingly filthy, and didn't function really at all.
Maintenance: I called the manager Tracy, who was very attentive to my needs (and really the only redeeming thing about living here) who offered to have my washer and dryer replace literally the next day, which was great. She sent maintenance up who fixed most of the issues that week (on a Saturday), and I purchased a new washer and dryer on my own. Tracy was always good to work with, and took care of mostly everything I needed.
Pros:
-Good Neighborhood
-Friendly People
-Close to Monroeville and Pittsburgh
-Small backyard and Patio
-Allows Pets
Cons:
-Townhouse was VERY outdated. It felt like I was living in the mid 1980s.
-Very poor insulation, and very drafty, my heating bills were outrageous.
-Appliances are small and inefficient, which results in huge electricity bills.
-Traffic is terrible everywhere, monroeville, delmont, pittsburgh, its really awful.
-HVAC System was poor, my filter was new, but the AC had trouble pushing to upstairs, it was always 10 degrees hotter up there.
-The wrong carpet tack was used, so walking around in socks you would get poked in the foot going up the stairs, or where the carpet was jointed with carpet tack.
I did get 100% of my security deposit back, because i cleaned it before i left, and i'm not a scumbag. I would say I left it cleaner than when I moved in.
All in All, i moved here from Hilton Head South Carolina. My apartments down there were brand new, huge, 2 bed 2 full bath, 16x12 kitchen with bar, Apartment pool, gym, clubhouse, BBQ and Gratto, all secluded in the forest and I was paying the same amount for an outdated townhouse here. Its probably not bad for most, but I really disliked living here.
