The bakery is just as everyone has stated in reviews. Beautiful when you walk in. My rating has to do with the one pastry I traveled from Buffalo to find- sfogiatelle. I regret that I bought half a dozen before trying one, because, not only are they not not flaky, they have too much filling, and have what I can best describe as a "soapy" taste. Having cooked for over 50 years I am pretty good at identifying flavors, but I cannot for the life of me figure out what causes this taste- I have to believe it's not soap! I have been trying this pastry everywhere I travel, trying to find ones that were like the ones of my childhood in NYC. I thought I found them. What a disappointment.
