Pittsburgh Parking Authority

Since I haven't taken a bus or a train into Pittsburgh, I've only been here to use the parking garage so that is what I'll review. This is a multi-storey parking facility. Strangely, it is divided into two parts and depending on whether you enter from Penn Avenue or from 12th Street, you'll be in one parking garage or the other. For those staying at the Westin, this is a cheaper parking option than the hotel's own parking garage because the daily rate is $13 vs $20 at the hotel and rates go down to $5/day on weekends. There are some downsides though. Although there is sometimes a guard on duty, I'm not sure the garage actually is that secure. After my most recent visit, I saw that someone had scratched my car with a coin or key. Also, there are often panhandlers at the garage entrance and one of them was apparently aggressive enough to provoke a fight that required police and paramedic involvement. And finally, I noticed a rat infestation, although that is probably to be expected at a gritty and grimy bus station building.
