We were referred to Brian Teyssier of ReMax Advanced Realtors of Robinson through a friend who recently purchased a home. She had nothing but great things to say about her experience with Brian and his team and now neither do we! For those who won’t read this book of a review, we'll provide a quick abstract:
Brian’s integrity, honesty, experience, knowledge of the market, responsiveness, expertise, negotiating abilities, and his team cannot be matched.
From the minute we emailed him, he was completely engaged in our process. He's quite busy but you wouldn't know it while working with him. He made himself available through all communication outlets, he would text you and keep you updated most hours of the day and if we had questions he'd respond pretty much immediately.
Being first time homebuyers is TERRIFYING. Brian's knowledge of the market, mixed with his expertise in the buying process made the whole experience extremely less daunting...We weren't easy first time buyers, either. We looked for almost a year, changed our mind on location, style, needs/wants, brought Brian to multiple homes through that time, and asked a ton of questions. He was patient, kind, and honest every step of the way. After we finally found our future home, we drew up an offer the day after the house was listed…this is where Brian's expertise and experience really came to light.
We viewed this home on the evening of November 22nd (if we recall correctly), had an offer in on the 23rd, and closed on December 29th. It was a competitive area/market to be in so we had to act fast. We gave what we thought was a competitive offer (per Brian’s opinion on said offer) and hoped for the best! The sellers wanted to fulfill their obligations to other potential buyers so they showed their home a few more times during the week but Brian helped calm our nerves during those few days and reassured us our offer was solid. Every piece of paperwork was sent to us in a timely fashion; if we missed one, or maybe didn't see it, he'd shoot us a quick text and tell us to check our email, and negotiations with the sellers went smoothly. We will say that having an experienced team on the seller’s side helped a lot as well! As buyers we had a few requests after our home inspection and the sellers agreed. We have to give credit to both our home inspector for noticing these issues, and Brian for his ability to negotiate these requests.
Most message boards and websites will say be wary of those who your agent recommends as far as mortgage lenders and home inspection go--that "they're more inclined to make it happen to continue to get his referral," or "they're working for the agent and not you,"--but the amount of credibility and honesty Brian had generated up until this point made our decision to go with his recommendations simple. I will admit, we did a quick search on the companies just to do our due diligence, but there wasn't a doubt in our minds that his team wouldn't be great.
We are writing this two months after closing looking back on the past year with Brian and realizing how streamlined the process really was. I know it’s crazy to think of selling two months after we moved in, but when we’re ready to go through this process again, we know exactly who we’re calling…without hesitation. As we mentioned before, Brian’s integrity, honesty, experience, expertise, knowledge, responsiveness, negotiating abilities, and his team cannot be matched. We cannot wait to spend 2017 and beyond in our new home!
