We hired Stellar after our house caught fire. We were extremely disappointed with their lack of skill with our home improvements. We are not professionals and ended up having to do a lot of the wrap up work, like trim work and hole patching, even clean up ourselves after Stellars crew proved to be very unskilled. Many of the tasks were done so poorly that they had to be repeated 3-4 times, and finally they just gave up. The construction manager came to our house to look at the shabby job his crew did and ended up apologizing to us and paying us to finish ourselves.
I should also mention that the first trim guy was smoking, and throwing his cigarette butts on the floor of our smoke free home. This was after everything was cleaned, and after we asked them not too.
The person in charge of handling our "case" personally was John Jonson, he was unprofessional and NEVER called us back . We ended up having to leave him a message saying that if he didn't call us back in a week he would be hearing from our lawyer. What was estimated to take 2-3 months ended up taking 6mo. And, we moved back into our house while it was unfinished.
Having said all that, I would like to point out that out of the many people who worked in our house there were a few who where helpful including:
Charlene- initial clean, and inventory. very understanding, helpful and made us feel like she was working on our side.
the man who did the drywall spackling (not the same as the punch list spackle guy)
Brian Freeby- construction manager. Although his crew was very inadequate, he always called us back in a timely manner, within 2-3 days. He also helped us find alternative products for safer insulation and paint.
Unfortunately, these people are stifled by the rest of the stellar crew.
