I have been a student there for 4 years, and I have no idea what Angel is talking about, let alone have I ever heard of this person. Sounds like just the classic disgruntled ex-employee trying to make their former job look bad, thats probably why she didn't even use her real name and kept it anonymous.... I'm going to tell the truth from a students perspective, that school changed my life. The people there are always willing to help you, and work with you to make you achieve the goals that you've set for yourself; they honestly look to get you to over-achieve, every teacher there is amazing at what I do, Ms. Kara my current teacher is the best teacher I've ever had, she taught me things I thought I'd never learn in my life... But, as for what "Angel" said about the staff specifically the nurse, the principal and the secretary is just ridiculous. If I had to name 3 people that work the hardest in that school, and that have personally changed MY life, it'd be those 3. "Ms. Jen", the nurse does her job accordingly, passes out the meds, sanitizes the desks and the door knobs, takes the kids in when theres any ailment, and reports any incidents to the parents, and will also sit down with the kids. She's great at her job, and is honestly a great, caring person... The secretary "Ms. Jess", is one of the nicest people I've ever been around. She has arguably the hardest job in that place, and never misses a beat. Everythings organized, she knows where everything is at all times. She's your ideal secretary in a job that truthfully does require a lot of skill and obviously multi-tasking, she's incredible at what she does and also is a great person, who has helped me tremendously in my tenure at TLC... As for "Dr. Corinne" our principal, you will never meet a woman so nice, so caring, that brings such a wonderful atmosphere to a place anytime that she walks in the door. The kids, even some stuff cling to her, she counsels the kids, she gives them presents for outstanding days and birthdays, she is just the most awesome person to be around, theres nothing negative I, or anyone could ever say about her. If it weren't for her I wouldn't be anywhere with my life. She got me enrolled in the Votech program for welding, she gave me a job on the work crew there, she came down in the Summer, her time off and we painted the classrooms, she always had her door open for me to talk to her at any time, she alone changed everything about my life. Just an amazing person, I couldn't imagine a better, harder working woman... Now, there is a certain physical aspect of our school with the staff assigned to do that job. They rarely get physical, unless the child is endangering themselves, or another child, even then, they just hold them to calm them down. It's nothing bad, I'd say 97% of the time our hall staff of Mr. Dustin and Mr. Archie do a great job calming the kids down, just by talking to them. They really are good people, and they care about the kids and thats what's important... Bottom line everyone there cares about the kids, and want them to graduate and go back to their public schools. The people there changed my life, and many other children's lives there. If I one day have a child, and I had to choose an alternative placement for him to go; God forbid that has to happen, but if it would, it'd be there. I love the place, love the staff, and will be indebted to them all forever.
