Please beware, this hotel has bed bugs. During the recent snow storm we checked into two rooms here. My family was there for about an hour when my mother-in-law found a bug on her after laying in the bed. She killed it immediately and then ask me what it was. I confirmed that it was a bed bug. My husband and I are both in the medical field; I am a senior student nurse and my husband is a CT tech studying to become a physician assistant. We both work at LVHN and are trained on how to spot bed bugs. I got out a light and checked the beds and one had bed bug feces on the corner of the mattress. The hotel is insisting it was a tick. Though I realize that ticks are active year-round, it's not exactly tick season. Ticks have a hard carapace and do not squish easily, nor do they have similar markings to bed bugs. The hotel is graciously offering us a refund of 10% per room. We had to leave the rooms and find new lodging for the night when so many unfortunate people had also lost power in their homes. My small son was upset that we had to move everything in the cold and snow again. It was a miserable experience that was made even worse by the staff and managers who continue to treat me like I am a moron. Do yourself a favor and stay anywhere else unless you can afford the thousands of dollars a bed bug treatment costs when you bring them home with you. We have reported them to the public health department here in Bethlehem and sincerely hope that no one else has been affected by their infestation.
