I had an appointment with Ebony for a simple haircut today at 4pm. Upon my arrival, I was acknowledged by Ebony, the owner. She said she would be right with me. She was doing a weave for another client. After 20 minutes, she asked a colleague to wash my hair. I got washed and conditioned fairly quickly. Ebony was however still working on the weave. Believe it or not, I sat and waited ,without acknowledgement by anyone, until 5:45. Ebony was still weaving. At 5:45 Ebony asked me if it would be ok if someone else cut my hair. I told her I didn't care who cut it i just wanted a cut. She asked the same colleague who washed me if she would cut my hair, but the girl (don't remember her name) said she didn't have the right scissors! Another colleague was uncertain. Finally I just said nevermind. Wet hair and all, I called for a ride to pick me up. Look, they had my number, and I should have been called and rescheduled. The issue here is, I have natural hair, not a weave. Weaves are where the money is. I get it. But be a professional and reschedule. I walked in and made the appointment so they saw what they were working with. . if you are doing a 3 hour weave, reschedule my appointment. Your time is no more valuable than mine. This is why I am reluctant to go to a black owned business! Shame on you Ebony!
